Splitting a PDF may seem overwhelming at first, but it's really easy once you get the gist of it.
Let's run through the options of the window:
At the top, there's a button that allows you to select the input PDF document. This is the file that you are going to split.
Export Format
The two radio buttons allow you to select the export format. You can either export your split pages as PDF(s) or images.
Image Export Settings
These settings only apply if you are exporting your files as images.
- Width (in px): The width of the images you are exporting.
- Image Format: The output file format of your images.
Split Settings
This is probably the most complicated part of the window, and is what allows you to choose how exactly you want to split your PDF document.
- Split all pages: This option splits each of your PDF document's pages into separate files.
- Export as PDF(s): A PDF file will be created for each page in your input document.
- Export as Images: An image file will be created for each page in your input document.
- Split page n only: This option splits a single page out of your PDF document.
- Export as PDF(s): A single PDF file will be created with just the page you selected.
- Export as Images: A single image file will be created with just the page you selected.
- Split pages x to y: This option splits a range of PDF document's pages into a separate file.
- Export as PDF(s): A single PDF file will be created with your selected range - only one file will be created.
- Export as Images: An image file will be created for each page in the selected range - potentially, lots of image files will be created.
- Split every n pages: This option splits your PDF document into smaller documents with n pages. For example, if your input document has 10 pages, 4 files will be created - 3 files with 3 pages, and another file with 1 page. This option is only available as a PDF export, and not as an image export.
